Student Massage Clinic

Student Clinic

An important aspect of our student’s education is the student massage therapy clinic.  At the clinic, students offer a variety of massage services that they have learned in their classes including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, and Neuromuscular Therapy.  Student clinic massages are available by appointment.  To schedule a massage, contact the school at (970) 385-5142.
The students will have at least 250 hours of education before working in the student clinic.  A professional massage therapist is on the premises during the student clinic to support both the students and clients as needed.

Cost

The cost for a 60 minute massage is $27.00.  We accept cash, checks, and Mastercard/Visa.

Tips

Clients are not required or expected to tip.  However, some clients like to tip their student therapists.  The tips we receive are held by the school for the students to use to celebrate their graduation at the end of the program.

What to Expect

Arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment to complete paperwork which includes describing any current health issues.  This information is critical for the student to perform a safe and beneficial massage.
Information shared with the school will remain confidential.

For some medical conditions, we will require written permission from a physician.

After completing the paperwork, you will meet with your student therapist to discuss your health history and the massage session.

The massage takes place in our classroom.  It is up one flight of stairs.  The individual massage area is portioned off by curtains.  This provides visual privacy, but there will be other massages happening at the same time, so we ask everyone involved to keep their voices low.

During the massage, you will lie on a massage table under a sheet (or sheet and blanket).  The therapist will uncover the part of your body that is getting massaged while the rest of your body remains covered.  For the massage, undress to your comfort level.

To help the student improve his or her skills, you will complete an evaluation form at the end of the massage.

Cancellations

Please call the school at least 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment.  Because the student must participate in 50 hours of student clinic in order to graduate, your participation becomes an important part of their education.  You may also give your appointment to a friend or family member if you cannot make it.

Special Considerations

For some medical conditions, we will require written permission from a physician.

If you are pregnant, please let us know in advance.  We provide massages to women in their second and third trimester after the students have received specialized training in pregnancy massage.
