In Business Class, we will learn the basics you will need to go into business for yourself. We begin by discussing self-employment vs. being an employee, what makes a person an "independent contractor," business structures, bookkeeping and taxes. From there, we practice bookkeeping and taxes using the Student Massage Clinic. After reviewing the bookkeeping to insure you understand quarterly tax filing, we explore the details of starting a business, including massage therapist registration in Colorado, other regulations, and insurance. Then we begin discussing marketing and each student develops his/her own marketing plan.
